Two friends, Mitch Planko and Dave Lockwood (Ryan Reynolds and Jason Bateman), who have drifted apart, now lead different lives. Dave is an overworked lawyer, husband, and father of three, while Mitch is a single, quasi-employed man-child. They believe the other one has a better life, and while peeing into a fountain they wish they led each other's lives. The next morning, they wake up to find themselves in each others'bodies, living each other's lives.
