Truly, Madly, Sweetly (2018) Reviews
True, mad, sweet
I disagree with all these negative reviews. This film is a pleasant and fun way to spend an evening. Nothing major, but the plot is believable, actors play well, and chemistry is there. I enjoyed the film.
Not bad but zero romantic chemistry
What sets apart a good Hallmark movie from a pleasant so-so film , is the chemistry between the 2 leads. If you don't get that right then the film can flounder into being just a clichéd corny drama. Nikki Deloach & Dylan Neal are good actors and their dialogue is sparky, but there's little romantic connection between them. Maybe it's me but Dylan looks a lot older than Nikki (in real life there's a 10 year age gap) . The story had merit, about them inheriting his Aunt's bakery & transforming it into a cupcake bakery and all the hurdles, financial and otherwise that enter their path. Most Hallmark aficionados will like the film and it moves along well - just not much romance in the air !
A Must See
This Hallmark movies did not disappoint. Apparently "DreamyOneNumber1" is not a true fan of Hallmark. All the actors did a great job & Nikki Deloach, Dylan Neal, Karen Holness & Dalias Blake (I only remember him from "The Nine Lives of Christmas") although he could have had more of a story line maybe, he did a great job as well. I live for my Hallmark movies & my only complaint is they could be longer.
Don't waste your time... This is the worst Hallmark movie ever.
This movie was difficult to even watch. There was no chemistry between the actors, almost everyone seemed miscast, and everything about this movie seemed forced. Even the facial expressions seemed contrived.. The lack of screen chemistry between the two leads is surprising. For the most part, if this movie was real life, it would seem that they almost didn't like each other, or were angry with each other. It's that bad. I've seen Dylan Neal in other programs, including as one of the leads in Cedar Cove. It's difficult to explain how he could be a natural in other productions, and so forced in this one, especially since he and his real life wife are the writers for this disaster. Whomever was responsible for hair styling - well, that's another issue. Nobody's hair looked particularly natural, not adults nor child. Karen Holness , however, deserves credit for her acting under the most difficult of conditions. I'm not sure what's really responsible for this disaster. I imagine better casting might have made a difference, but I'm not sure how much. It almost seems as if the characters were just reading a script, rather than acting it. I usually enjoy the Hallmark movies, but this is one to avoid at all costs.
Better watch a baking show instead
You'd have more fun watching a cooking food network show than this. Anna Olson is more fun to watch than this insipid totally formula romantic Hallmark movie. A baker and a brash man jointly inherit a building that can't be altered due to historic conservation reasons. There is no chemistry between the leads. Dylan Neal is a bit old looking for Nikki deloach.
