This synopsis contains spoilersBajo las estrellas (beneath the stars) features the selfish, opportunistic Benito (Alberto San Juan), a professional trumpet player barely surviving in Madrid, who returns to his home in Navarre when he learns that his father is dying. Benito reconnects with his younger brother, Lalo (Julián Villagrán) a metal sculptor, who is emotionally needy. Benito also develops a surprising bond with the Ainara (Violeta Rodríguez) the young daughter of his brothers girlfriend, Nines (Emma Suárez). He calls Ainara little piggy.A free spirit, Benito is enraged at a television account of an ETA car bombing. While drunk he insults Basque sympathizers and is beaten up. Later a family tragedy provokes the suicide of Lalo. From this Benito chooses to abandon his music career in the big city and insists that Nines and Ainara move in with him.

Good movie about a beautiful friendship
I think the first comment just slept half of the movie, because he's talking about things that never happens in it. I went with some friends, and everybody liked the movie. A good and original story, with characters you won't forget soon. The movie tells a piece of life of two brothers whose father just died. This causes one of the son, a poor musician in a small club in the big city, to come back to the small town where he grew up. For the first time in years he will look at his life from a distance and understand a lot of things... But he never says it, everything is implicit. But the best reason to see this movie is the unexpected and yet beautiful friendship between the main character and a little girl. It has some magic...

Well,I don't use to write any comments about the movies I like.But maybe some people will not watch this movie because of the only comment about it.And It would be really a pity. This movie is sad and funny at the same time,is really deep.I watch it in Spanish, so I don't know if the translation is accurate, but I'm sure many Spaniards would enjoy a lot the language that the main character use.Benito is brilliant(He is a sweet cheeky)!Is just the great example about the beauty behind some craziness.I really love this movie,I hope everybody would enjoy as much as I did. .....I can not believe how bad(wrong) the other person understood this movie....Even an alien with 6 neurons and some sensitivity would have get it.
Bad,bad, super bad
The worse Spanish movie that I've ever seem. This movie was very disappointed. My expectations were that he will go home, find his roots, and do something good with his life. The guy try to steal from his almost dead father. He is a alcoholic. Bring his brother back to be an alcoholic. He has no roots. Make his brother kill himself. And at the end pretend to be the nice guy that is saving his brothers girlfriend and daughter. Terrible, no words to describe the disappointment. It is is no question the worse movie that I've seem in years. The producer should try another profession, because with movies like this will be hard for him to make a living.
