• Solid Christian Film with a strong Evangelistic message!

  There are a lot of films out there that contain content that is inappropriate for the family. Standing Firm is a solid Christian film with a positive redemptive message. Filmmaking in this genre is often very difficult due to budget restrictions, however the director does a great job in Standing Firm in providing production value with a strong evangelistic message. The film deals with difficult subject matters that I'm sure will reach people in all walks of life. Its a story about how all things work for the Glory of God. If you are looking for a great film as a gift for friends or family or entertainment without having to worry about inappropriate content, this film is strongly recommended. We're looking forward to seeing how this director will be changing things up in his next film, CHASING GLORY!

  Somehow I have been blessed to have a sneak peak at this project since early 2009 when I first met the maker Kyle Prohaska, getting shown portions of the film for opinions or just getting to see how progress was going, and I have to say to now see the final project, a BIG well done. I think many will be surprised to see the production quality of this film, considering it is the filmmaker's first production. And, I hope many will be changed as a result of seeing this from the story. This goes beyond what most movies are; which is usually just entertainment (or trying to be). This is trying to challenge, both those who would say they believe in Jesus Christ and those who do not. And in the end, this will be a worthwhile investment of your time... I hope for all eternity. :-)

  The acting and production are much better than what I thought they would be; however, the story was pretty bad. The Dad's conversion comes very quickly. His co-workers desire to go to church came out of nowhere. At no time is there respect for other people's religions or lack of religion. As an Atheist I was not moved nor was my thinking changed by watching this. The only arguments here were assertions, assertions that god is real, that he loves us, etc. Doing the job for free seemed really ridiculous. If customers can't pay for work, they don't get the service...I didn't see anything wrong with what the guy did. Doing the job for free seemed like a big mistake. In the end I felt Christians came off as belligerent and not understanding of anything they don't understand. Prayer and social pressure are the only tools they use. I gave this the score I did because it fails on convincing non-believers to believe. The story was a little silly, and I didn't like the certitude that these Christians live their lives.

  Another church made movie on Christianity. The acting, as one character states in the film...it is what it is. No NAME Hollywood actors will be found here. What you will find are real humans who have no doubt gone through similar circumstances and come through those with triumph! To be truthful, Hollywood can't make a film like this. They've tried and just are not very good at it. It is a quiet movie. Not a lot of dialog but what there is, is meaningful. This is a wonderfully quiet little gem that should be seen. It will touch your heart. I gave it a 9 out of 10 because the acting is a little wooden. I have nothing more to add, but IMDb guidelines won't let me submit my review unless there are 10 lines. SO, here are my 10 lines! There is something to be said for being succinct!!!

• Standing Firm is Inspirational!

  I enjoyed this movie , and saw it on Pure Flix streaming, via a VPN - I'm in the UK and normally couldn't see this due to the Devil not wanting this media to go outside the US and Canada. Great pity to prevent a larger audience from viewing this. I like the film because life is tough, especially after a bereavement, it takes time for the bereaved to pick themselves up. Somethings work out, other's don't and the film portrays this. It brings us back into realising that in our changing emotional state, God never changes, He is with us every step of the way, including the journey through loss and sorrow, back into His love. Well-worth watching and as I have suggested this should be released to a larger audience, shouldn't it?
